MY STYLE: Distressed and Floral

How unlikely is the pairing of something edgy and distressed with something soft and feminine? That's a bit of an oxymoron isn't it? 

Distressed denim was a heavy hitter on the fashion scene last Summer and has continued it's journey into this Spring. Although there are many variations and styles of distressed denim on the market, I just couldn't find one that I really loved so I made my own. 

This floral blazer has a story of its own also. I was eyeing it for about a month or more. I even fitted it once but for some reason, I still hadn't convinced myself to buy it. I'm not quite sure what finally convinced me to purchase the blazer but I'm glad that I did because even though it's floral and currently on trend, because of the abundance of colours, I can wear it with different outfits. Versatility is a key principle in wardrobe styling.

MY STYLE: DIY Reconstructed jeans to maxi skirt

Hi beauties:

How has your weekend been thus far? Done anything interesting?

I'm excited to share my first sewing project with you. I have officially become obsessed with fashion blogging and recently, I stumbled upon a fellow blogger Mimi G. Today's outfit is really simple but it excites me to share it because I followed Mimi's super easy instructions and made a perfectly wearable denim maxi skirt out of 2 pairs of jeans that I stopped wearing a long time ago.
