Summer Florals

As much as I absolutely love Fall, I am standing in the gap and holding on to the Summer days for all you fashionistas who love the Summer but are already experiencing the weather change. The Summer days are quickly fading and as soon as you know, it'll be Christmas.

On my recent travels to Czech Republic and Austria, I stopped in at the Designer Outlet Parndorf near Vienna, which is tax-free by the way, to browse through the outlet stores. Desigual is fairly new here in the Cayman Islands so I was not overly familiar with the brand although they've been around since 1984, but this dress caught my eye because my favourite colour was so prominent. I would say the variation of prints and designs of the brand are for eclectic persons who like busy prints and flamboyant splashes of colour so if you're more on the conservative side, this store is definitely not for you.

MY STYLE: Weekend Cut Out

How totally adorbs is this dress? My photographer's parents were visiting so we met up for lunch before they took flight back to Canada. I wasn't sure what to wear but remembered that I bought this dress back in December while visiting my old stomping ground (Canada). It was perfect for a Sunday lunch and of course because we don't always have time to shoot looks in the week, I wore something shoot-worthy and 'bloggable'.

I'm not particularly a fan of dresses or tops with cut-outs but I found the cut-outs in this dress to be just enough for me. The other great thing about this dress is its versatility. It can be dressed up or as worn here, dressed down with sandals.

MY STYLE: Lady

As a self-proclaimed fashionista, I must admit that I do not always follow fashion rules, trends, fashion history etc., which leads me to say that I never did quite understand the rule, 'No White After Labour Day'. I eventually got around the researching the rule and while I now understand its origin and on-going tradition, I can't promise that I will adhere it.

The best colour in the whole world is the one that looks good on you- Coco Chanel

I LOVE white. I've repeated it in several blog posts but I really, really do. White is so pure, so classy, so lady-like, so fresh, so crisp. Whenever I wear full white, especially a dress, I feel so royal.

MY STYLE: Stripe Up My Alley

Hi lovies:

Recently, I've been in a very intimate relationship with stripes, specifically black and white stripes as seen in these posts here, here, one of my faves here, here and here. Whenever I get the chance, I ditch all other combinations and pair my stripes

When I saw this faux wrapped dress (similar sleeveless one here and shorter version here) at one of my local boutiques, I just knew that it had to come home with me. It had me at hi, hello and how are you!

MY STYLE: Faux Denim Ruffle Maxi Dress

Hi beauties:
I'm super excited! Ok, maybe not super but excited enough....and why? Because it's a long weekend. Woo hoo! Although the weekend is almost over, I'm just really happy that a short work week is ahead.
This Monday, November 12, Rememberance Day, we are remembering those who fought in battle for the freedom of our islands- the Cayman Islands. Not only is it a long weekend but Friday night was the official kick-off to our 35th Pirates' Week Festival which I totally missed. The fireworks are always superb! On Saturday, I also missed the Pirates' landing which is usually a treat for visitors and locals alike, but I surely didn't miss the food ;) as I made sure to check out the local stalls. Other than the fact that it's a great time to see faces that you haven't seen in years (although the island is roughly 24 miles long), the food is ALWAYS a treat.
The weather has been amazing. Island 'winters' are the best ;). I literally popped in to one of the island boutiques I frequent, purchased this dress, ripped off the tag and headed out to catch the remaining festival activities for the evening. I knew that I wanted something free flowing and light and this dress was exactly it.

MY STYLE: Purity...Empress-Style

Hi beauties:
On Sunday, I mentioned that I was supposed to be in a photoshoot and I would let you know how it went. Well, it went. Lol! It was really good. I was asked to dress 'empress-style' which was pretty easy for me considering that I like dressing that way anyway.
Nothing says empress more than a white maxi dress, wrapped locs and wooden accessories. Do you agree?
