MY STYLE: Fearfully Bold

Thinking will not overcome fear but action will W. Clement Stone
If you've been following my blog for some time, you will know that 1- I do not wear shorts, 2- I rarely post any outfit wearing anything above my knees and 3- I'm overly conscious of my legs (see why here).

We're an imperfect people with flaws and imperfections and that's exactly what makes us individually unique. I am not necessarily fearful of my physique as much as I am body-conscious, but today, I stepped well outside my comfort zone and wore shorts even if it were only for pictures. Talk about conquering fear! Ok, maybe I haven't conquered the 'fear' but sharing my pictures in an international forum is quite a bold step.

I loved how the pictures came out. Now I'm not promising that I will ever wear shorts out in public but I may experiment in another blogpost so stay tuned.....

MY STYLE: Neon Spring

April hath put a spirit of youth in everything
- William Shakespare

April is a beautiful month because it births beautiful things, new beginnings and a new season- Spring. Spring (or any other season besides Summer) does not exist in the Caribbean where I live, but I can always pretend right? Not only is April a beautiful month because of Spring, but it's a beautiful month because it's my birth month ;)......and if you're wondering, I'll be mid-30 something. x_x. Time sure does fly.

So, on to the outfit. How are these multi colored neon pants? Aren't they funky and fresh? When I saw them, I knew that I'd be able to pair them with just about anything because of the abundance of colours. I've had these pants for a few months now and finally decided to do something with them today.

MY STYLE: Pardon Moi

Statement sweatshirts were a big fashion hit last Fall. Although my post is late, it couldn't be more timely. I ordered this sweatshirt from ASOS in October or November of last year and somewhere along the way, the shipment got lost so needless to say, I was in endless email conversations with the company trying to locate my package. After the lengthy back and forth of numerous emails, my package finally arrived just in time for this post. The French term 'Pardon Moi' which means "Excuse Me" in English, is my statement to you my amazing followers for remaining so patient with me while I am inactive on this blog. I do miss blogging but unfortunately I am unable to remain active at the moment. THANK YOU so much for your understanding and continued support.

Love,
Olivia X

The Perfect Black Pumps

Just like the perfect little black (or red) dress, every woman should own at least one pair of the perfect black (pointy toe) pumps. Pointy-toe black pumps deserve a place in the wardrobe just like the classic, white button-up shirt, perfect fitting jeans and the denim shirt (ok...and maybe a red lipstick). Pointy pumps can be worn on any occasion, from daytime to night.

Considering that I'm more of an open-toe heels kinda gal, a few months ago, I found myself on a serious hunt for the perfect pair of affordable, black pointy-toe pumps. While I still desire to own a pair of CL Pigalle or Jimmy Choo Anouk's, at the moment, I find it very hard to pay such a hefty penny so I settled with a shiny pair from ALDO.

In my opinion, one can never have too many wardrobe staples so eventually I will get the Pigalle or Anouk.

MY STYLE: Love.....

Love never fails........

So, today is February 14th- Valentine's Day, and it is actually the one day of the year where I literally cringe at the thought of the day. I am one of the most anti-valentine persons there are. Why you ask? I cannot get my head around why billions of people around the world act as if it's the only day to express their so-called love for their 'special someone'. Forgive me for sounding like the love scrooge but if their someone was so special, wouldn't the love be shown everyday? What happens to the other 364 days of the year?

I usually wear full black on V-Day but today, I flipped the script NOT because I've had a change of heart about the day, but because of my beautiful red, full skirt (and you know how much I loved full skirts). Funnily enough, I won 'Best V-Day Outfit' at the office today. Go figure!

Cherish yourself FIRST and then that special someone (if there's someone) every waking day of your life. Don't wait until the world decides to celebrate 'love' for you to show that you care, appreciate, cherish, admire, think about and love him/ her. Create your V-day, every day, every week, every year. Without completely sounding like the love scrooge (because I'm really not), HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

MY STYLE: Denim on Flared Lime

I first debuted this skirt on the blog in this post. Funnily enough, there weren't many comments on the blog but the outfit pretty much went 'viral' on Instagram and didn't do too bad on  FB. This time, instead of dressing the skirt up, I dressed it down with a denim shirt.

I was inspired by Blair to either buy this skirt or have it made and I went for the latter because there was NO WAY that I was going to pay near $700 for it.

Apart from the look in the debut post, I knew that this skirt would be on repeat. This is the second look but you can be sure to look out for it again.....and again.....and again. :)

It's very rare that such beautiful pieces aren't worn by well-known style bloggers and voila, I found Blair (of course), Folake and Jadore Fashion all styling this skirt with denim shirts.

MY STYLE: Denim on White

Happy New Year lovies! Hope the new year has met you and your loved ones well.

This is my first post of 2014 and I'm looking forward to bringing you some new and exciting style posts.

I needed to take a break from the social media world and still feel like I need a longer break but I truly missed style blogging so much so I had to break, the break. It's good to be back with you. Hope you didn't miss me too much.

Apart from the basic white, button-up shirt, the denim shirt has got to be the next, most versatile shirt a woman should own. You can easily dress down any outfit by adding a denim shirt. It's perfect for casual meetings, brunch, date nights and the list goes on and on.

By now surely you should know that I have a weakness for full flared skirts and this white one is the latest addition to my collection. Slowly but surely I will acquire these skirts in all prints and colours. I absolutely love the automatic lady-like feeling they give.

These shoes oh these shoes. So beautiful, so versatile, so sexy, so unique.
