MY STYLE- Pink Flare

Ever so often, I let the empress in me come to light. In no way do I follow or practice Rastafarism but I do love to wrap my locs and dress empress-like at times.

I love a flowy maxi skirt and although the summer is meant to be officially over, it never really ends in the Caribbean so the light, airy flow of maxi skirts keep me cool.

Have a great weekend!

INSPIRED STYLE: Princess Barbie

If I were to receive a dollar for every time some one called me barbie, I would be a zillionaire!

Over the weekend, I attended a beach wedding for two really cool, down to earth people. It was such a chilled, laid back type of wedding.....like a flip flop, short sleeve type of wedding, but knowing me, I had to attempt wearing heels on sand *crickets*.

I was never a girlie girl growing up and I still don't consider myself to be one but I really have a soft spot for big, flared, poofy skirts/ dresses. They automatically transform any woman into a princess with magic wands, tiaras and sparkles. Although this wedding was not about me, I wanted to feel like a princess.

A little magic can take you a long way- Roald Dahl

The design and colour combination of this dress was inspired by one of my favourite fashion bloggers, KT Reed of KTR Style. She designed a similar dress but I did not want to replicate her design but rather be inspired by the design. Of course, I also channeled a bit of my inner Carrie Bradshaw of SATC with the subtle high-low, flared bottom.

What are your thoughts about my design?

iGo Pink- Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast Cancer affects both men and women and have claimed the lives of millions around the world. I lost my mom to cancer (not breast cancer) 8 years ago and the pain of her loss still has not gotten easier. Many others share this feeling with me.

Every year, I try to do something to honour victims and survivors of breast cancer. Here in the Cayman Islands, there are many activities during October to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. There are silent auctions, run/walk marathons, gala dinners, fund-raising events.

There are soooo many different ways to show support for Breast Cancer and this post is all about that.

You can also see my previous posts for breast canccer here and here.

Recreation: Pinky Swear

Hi beauties:

I'm back again with another FOTN (Face of the Night) and this time, it's a recreation of one of my favorite new found Youtube Makeup Artists, Naya. Naya is a representative of the ever so pigmented and fierce makeup lines, Bitch Slap Comestics.

Other than one of my other faves, none other than Miss Lauren better known as "Queen of Blending", Naya has the boldest eye makeup looks ever and her videos are super quick and easy to follow.

So without further delay, here is my version of Naya's Pinky Swear look!

Please pardon the quality of my pics as they were taken with my cell phone...

Until next time, stay blessed!

Pretty maids all in a row.....trial session

Hi beauties:

I am not sure if wedding season is the same where you come from but I have recently discovered that wedding season in the Cayman Islands is late November to the end of April. Weddings take place throughout the year but they are usually in full force between November and April (in my opinion)

Since the beginning of the new year, I have done makeup for close to 10 weddings if not more. For the most part, I rarely get pictures of my work but for this bridal party trial, I ensured that I found time to take a few pictures.

This wedding is not expected to happen until late June however, the bride wanted to get her bride's maids' trial out of the way (and so did I).

All young and trendy ladies, the bride wanted her bride's maids to have bright, colourful eyes of fushia with a hint of teal, without seeming too OTT.

Before I share the pics with you, here's the look I wore to the ladies' trial.

And as promised....here are a few pictures of the ladies.

At a later date, I will share a post on the bride's trial.

Which do you like the best?

Bubble Gumdrop Look

Hi beauties:

This is my second LOTD back to back and I'm kinda proud of myself ;). This actually looked alot better in reality but by the time I completed the look, the sunlight was long gone and I have to use the flash. With the flash on the camera, I lost a few colors. Anyway, this is called Bubble Gumdrop and I hope you like it!

By the way, TGIF!!! What are your weekend plans?

Anyway, enjoy this look!

GUESS WHO'S BACK???

Woo hoo!! Yes, I'm finally getting back in the groove of things and feeling to play around with makeup!! I know I've been gone for some time but I'm back now.

Today, I wanted to use random colors and so I thought I'd play with fushia and royal blue. In between blending and applying colors, I thought of berries (raspberries and blue berries) hence the name "Crushed Berries".

This is what I came up with.....
