MY STYLE: Le Bleu

Hey loves! It seems as if I've been wearing a lot of blue lately but I promise you it's unintentional. I bought this maxi peplum a little while ago but hadn't worn it or even figured what to pair it with. It just sat in the closet longing to be worn. These pants have however been worn numerous times and have appeared in several posts (seen here and here). Because I'm always rushing, I didn't have time to properly prepare this outfit but figured these pants would have complimented the peplum nicely. mixing shades & hues of blue often work out right? In an upcoming post, I will be sure to share how I maximize shooting for style posts.

MY STYLE: Black Mermaid

For quite some time now, I've been seeing style bloggers and fashionistas styling pencil skirts with tees. As a matter of fact, it was a trend at one point but in true Olivia fashion, I don't necessarily follow trends and do my own thing whenever I'm ready. So here we are, about a year later out-of-trend,  styling a pencil, peplum hem skirt with a tee- a Top Model tee to be exact.

MY STYLE: Black on Black Peplum Hem

Hi dolls! Season's Greetings to you and yours. I'm sure that you are all excited for the holidays. Christmas happens to be my absolute favourite holiday of all. It's literally the most wonderful time of the year. Everyone (or most people) seem to be much happier this time of the year and I love it. There's so much cheer in the air, beautiful colours and bright lights.

After my recent blogging hiatus, I returned promising you that I would not disappear again, but unfortunately, I am still recovering from back surgery (thankfully only a minor one) and had to take wee break.

With all of that being said, here is a quick inspired style post for you. As you know, I love Wendy of Wendy's Lookbook and this was my take on her look she so cutely called- Mermaid in the City.

MY STYLE: Structured Peplum & Denim

Happy Monday beauties! I can't believe how quickly the time is passing by. Not only are we in a new week but a new month and new season. Time is just zipping by.
From time to time I like to re-visit some of my older wardrobe pieces and pair them with newer items. This look blends a little old with a little new......and something perfectly blue ;)

When I was sorting out pieces for this post, I couldn't quite decide if I wanted to do just the structured peplum top or a cropped, off-the-shoulder top so I did both.

MY STYLE: Tulle & Lace

From time to time, I'll go through the gallery of blog photos I have taken over time and sometimes I stumble upon outfits that were never posted. I first debuted this tulle maxi skirt here and it is one of my favourite looks.

I first saw this statement necklace on Kela of Kela's Kloset when we met at the Style Bloggers of  Color Conference in Miami in 2013. I instantly fell in love with it and was on the hunt ever since. I just had to have it. Totally swooning!

MY STYLE: Zig Zag

As I become more engrossed in the awesome, exciting and dynamic world of style blogging, I am also experimenting more and becoming less self-conscious about wearing shorts. In previous posts, I've shared why I was never keen on wearing shorts.

Most of my pieces have a story and these shorts do. I saw them in one of the local boutiques and passed them several times.....roughly about a month's worth of passing, but I couldn't resist the quality of the fabric and simple black and white, zig zag design. I eventually gave in and purchased them to add to my growing shorts collection.

MY STYLE: Simply White

Simplicity is the keynote of all true eleganceCoco Chanel

According to the world wide web, the first official day of Summer is either June 20th or 21st, but in the Cayman Islands where I live, it's Summer everyday. White is always on trend for the Spring/ Summer, because its a no brainer that it is the coolest shade to combat the scorching Summer temps.

This outfit was by no means cool at all. Skinny jeans and a long sleeved wool top? Really Olivia?!.....but it's cute though right? Hey, us women aren't always about comfort or practicality, we're about style all the way.

The truth about this outfit is that 1- it was totally inspired by a very good friend Doopie (check her out on IG), 2- I really wanted to pair my new floral Marlenee heels and 3- I definitely wanted to sport my necklace which I am so in love with. Whilst both the necklace and heels would also pair beautifully with an all black ensemble, I thought it was more chic with all white. What are your thoughts?

MY STYLE: Noir et Blanc

Hi loves, it's been a while since I've done a proper style post for you.  Between Cayman Islands Fashion Week 2014 which was held in April, and Cayman Carnival Batabano which was the following week, I've been on the go and just couldn't find any time to blog. Whenever I don't blog, my mood changes. Blogging is one of the few free ways in which I unwind. It brings a sense of relief and balance. It is cathartic. What are some of the ways you unwind and regain your balance?

Black and white are one of those classic combinations that will never die. I don't think there's anything that looks bad in black and white. Can you think of anything? I absolutely LOVE black and white photos, clothing, a handful of movies, shoes, decor and the list goes on and on. This outfit pairing is no different. I purchased these pants online sometime last year and never worn them (like so many other pieces in my closet. *bows head in shame*)

Because I wanted the pants to be the star of the show with a little help from the extreme, structured peplum top, I kept the accessories to a bare minimum.
