MY STYLE: Neutral Fall

Autumn is as joyful and sweet as an untimely end-
Remy de Gourmont

Just like black and white, in my opinion, the combination of white paired  with camel, tan or beige is equally as classic. It is one of those combinations that look great on anyone and transitions from season to season. I firmly agree that colours outside of black and gray can and should be worn in the winter. Afterall, colour brings light to any mood and we all know what the winter is like.

Of the few pieces that I purchased on my recent trip to the Czech Republic, I think this is my absolute favourite. As simple as it is, it is my favourite because it was so inexpensive yet the comfort and quality are just remarkable. Let's not forget to mention the colour....totally swoon-worthy.

MY STYLE: Olivia Shirt Dress

Happy Friyay loves! Just sharing a quick post of my Olivia shirt dress and how I chose to wear it as a shirt/ tunic. In another post, I will wear it as a dress. I think I was more excited to purchase this piece because Polo Ralph Lauren named it after me *wink*

Have a great weekend!

MY STYLE: Sheer White Panels

Happy Monday loves! I can't believe how quickly the year has flown by. We are already mid-way through September but I am not complaining because my favourite season (Fall) and holiday (Christmas) are just around the bend. In the meantime, I will continue to bask in warm temperatures and light layers.

Whenever I do long-haul trips, shopping is usually the last thing on my mind. My intention is always to take in as much as I can, immerse myself in the sights and culture of the country and if I have a few minutes to spare, then I'll pop into a store or two. On my recent travels to Czech Republic, I popped into an off road shop as I was walking through the cobble-stone side streets. As I was about to walk out of the store, I saw this top on a mannequin and the rest was history. Because I live in the Caribbean, I often go for light, airy, delicate pieces and this top checked all of those boxes.

MY STYLE: Fringe Booties

In my previous post, I spoke about the freedom and creativity that fashion provides, where there are little to no rules and even if there are rules, those rules can be broken. In that post, I paired super casual, frayed denim shorts with a sleeveless, long-line blazer, which you can see has showed up again in this post, only this time, a little more on the casual but dressy side. This blazer will no doubt be on repeat with variations of dresses and bottoms.

Let's talk a little about these shoes which first made their appearance on my Instagram. When I first saw these fringed booties, I had a serious mental debate about whether or not I wanted them, how they would look and if I were willing to pay the shipping and duty cost for these babies. After seeing how numerous style bloggers styled them, I could not resist purchasing so I bit the bullet and bought them--thankfully, I did not regret the purchase.

I guess the designer pre-empted that fringe would be the next big trend because almost after 6-7 months of the purchase, everything fringe exploded everywhere.

MY STYLE: Denim on Denim

In my humble opinion, denim on denim is always 'trending' simply because it is an easy, go-to wardrobe combo that can be worn year round. Just like black and white, denim on denim is one of those classic combinations that will never go out of style. Denim on denim is versatile and can be transformed in the blink of an eye, not to mention pairing it with anything leopard.
In previous posts, I've paired darker washes of denim but this is the first post of pairing a light wash.

INSPIRED STYLE: Babydoll

Happy weekend darlings! It is absolutely no secret that I draw inspiration from everything-whether it is for my art, my style, my hair or simply just life. Today's look is an inspired one from Folake of Style Pantry. Many call it copying but I call it inspiration.

I'm usually pretty silly during my shoots. Here's an outtake

MY STYLE: Gold Knit

HAPPY NEW YEAR Loves! I trust that the new year has started off with a great big positive bang for you and you're gearing up for all the blessings that it will bring (I claim it and you should too). I've been alot more active on my Instagram account than I've been on this blog so just in case you're not following me there, you should do so now at ShadesNStyles ;) please and thank you.

With the next few posts, I will be playing catch up and my first catch up look is this beautiful, metallic, delicate, gold knit sweater. It can't be washed so I'm still trying to figure out if it is actually a piece that is meant to be worn.

INSPIRED STYLE: Double Denim

Today's look is by no means an original one but definitely a classic one. There is something crisp, refreshing and summery about all white with a touch of denim. Although most countries are now seeing the back end of summer, we're fortunate to still have warm days.

My look was inspired by KT Reid of KTR Style. Her American Girl style was quick, simple and chic. To me, this is the perfect weekend outfit.

MY STYLE: White Knot

I LOVE white. There are no two ways about it; I just do. Once again, I stepped a little outside my comfort zone and I'm not quite sure if it's comfort zone or modest zone. I'm a modest dresser. I haven't always been but I grew in to it. When I was much younger, I had a navel piercing so I would take any and every opportunity to show my piercing and tummy. Nowadays, I prefer to leave a lot to the imagination ;)

White was a huge hit on the catwalk this Summer and rightly so, it's the most practical shade for the scorching temperatures this season.

Grecian braids are also trending heavily right now so I decided I'd try one on my locs and I love how it turned out. Do you?
