MY STYLE: Le Bleu

Hey loves! It seems as if I've been wearing a lot of blue lately but I promise you it's unintentional. I bought this maxi peplum a little while ago but hadn't worn it or even figured what to pair it with. It just sat in the closet longing to be worn. These pants have however been worn numerous times and have appeared in several posts (seen here and here). Because I'm always rushing, I didn't have time to properly prepare this outfit but figured these pants would have complimented the peplum nicely. mixing shades & hues of blue often work out right? In an upcoming post, I will be sure to share how I maximize shooting for style posts.

MY STYLE: Blue Hues

I am not beautiful like YOU. I am beautiful like ME.
Over the past 2 years or so, I've become a lot more comfortable wearing shorts and rompers and anything above my knees. I stated the reasons in previous posts but for years, I had a complex, an insecurity, a strong dislike for my legs. People would repeatedly try to assure me that my legs were beautiful and I could wear anything that I wanted because I was (and still am) so slender and petite, but until I was able to see me as I was, and love and appreciate whatever I saw, I could not accept what they were saying. Only the negative comments lived with me daily. As time passed, I learned to love me more, embracing everything because it was what I had and what God blessed me with. For the things that I did not like and could change, I worked on them and still work on them. There will always be something (or a few things) that we will not like about ourselves but we should not love ourselves any less because of them.

Love YOU for YOU and BE YOU because there is only ONE you. Everyone else is taken.

MY STYLE: Blanket Scarf

Hello loves! I'm continuing my faux-Fall looks with this cozy, fuzzy, blanket scarf that I scooped up in Forever XXI last week on a spontaneous, unplanned trip to the big apple. If you're wondering why I said faux-Fall, it's because I live in the Cayman Islands and there is nothing Fall about 90+ degree heat. I was sweating bullets while shooting this look and
while many people would give anything to enjoy such high temps, I'm ok with it any other time of year except Fall and THAT is why the unplanned trip to New York happened. I am remaining optimistic and hoping that the weather will drastically cool down so I can fully break into Fall gear without being drenched in sweat.

This blanket scarf was a big hit in style blogosphere at one time and unfortunately, I was unable to get my hand on one from Zara because they sold out as soon as they were stocked. Apart from the fact that the scarf is cozy and fuzzy, the multi-coloured stripes offers you the opportunity to style and mix with varying accent pieces and colours.

Even though the scarf has 5 colours, I paired it here with red skinnies  and classic, pointy-toe, black pumps to give the look an extra pop of 'something'.

Insta-Lately

HAPPY EASTER!! I trust that you had a blessed one with your friends and family! I'm thankful for Easter for so many reasons. What does Easter mean to you?

Nowadays I find that I am more active on Instagram than I am here on my blog so be sure that you're following me there to keep up with me. I've posted a few pics of what I've been up to lately.

Look at these legs! I had no idea they had this much definition ;). Stay tuned, this style post is coming up soon.

This is how I ended my Good Friday, mesmerized by God's awesome beauty.
Sunset is still my favourite color, and rainbow is the second- Mattie S.

Oh I couldn't resist buying these gorgeous Privileged Shoes. How beautiful are they?

MY STYLE: Lady Bug

Hey loves! Just popping in to give you another quick (and cute) weekend lady bug combination of red and black. Not only did I love the simple but stylish ensemble that I quickly threw together, but I loved the location that we shot. The sidewalk was covered in fallen leaves as if it were Fall all over again, and if you've been following me for a while then you'd know that Fall/ Autumn, is my favourite season. Unfortunately we do not experience a change of seasons here in the Caribbean but we could always pretend right?!

MY STYLE: Gold Knit

HAPPY NEW YEAR Loves! I trust that the new year has started off with a great big positive bang for you and you're gearing up for all the blessings that it will bring (I claim it and you should too). I've been alot more active on my Instagram account than I've been on this blog so just in case you're not following me there, you should do so now at ShadesNStyles ;) please and thank you.

With the next few posts, I will be playing catch up and my first catch up look is this beautiful, metallic, delicate, gold knit sweater. It can't be washed so I'm still trying to figure out if it is actually a piece that is meant to be worn.

MY STYLE: Black on Black Peplum Hem

Hi dolls! Season's Greetings to you and yours. I'm sure that you are all excited for the holidays. Christmas happens to be my absolute favourite holiday of all. It's literally the most wonderful time of the year. Everyone (or most people) seem to be much happier this time of the year and I love it. There's so much cheer in the air, beautiful colours and bright lights.

After my recent blogging hiatus, I returned promising you that I would not disappear again, but unfortunately, I am still recovering from back surgery (thankfully only a minor one) and had to take wee break.

With all of that being said, here is a quick inspired style post for you. As you know, I love Wendy of Wendy's Lookbook and this was my take on her look she so cutely called- Mermaid in the City.

INSPIRED STYLE: Lime

Happy Friday loves!

If you've been following me on this blog for a while then you'll know that I'm not big on following seasons, trends or any of the sorts. I kinda just do my own thing. This is by no means a Fall look but I saw this look on Blair a while back and felt inspired, as she always makes me feel.

I've never really doubled up on statement necklaces but experimented with this look and it worked--or at least I think so.
