Happy Monday beauties! It is officially November which means that it's also officially the season of festivities, family time and lots of food. I absolutely LOVE this time of the year. October brings colourful Fall leaves and snuggly sweaters. November brings Thanksgiving and December brings Christmas, presents and beautifully decorated Christmas trees and sparkly lights. How much more perfect could these three months be?

Did I mention that my seamstress is back on island? If you've been following my blog for some time now, you would know that I'm always singing the praises of my seamstress and how she spoils me by making the cutest outfits, including this floral, cut-out, co-ord set. From time to time, my local fabric store will stock irresistibly gorgeous, eye-catching fabrics like this large, floral print one and I can't help but purchase a piece even if I don't have an outfit in mind at the moment. This piece however went straight from fabric store to seamstress because one of my favourite style bloggers made a similar outfit, and I wanted something similar.

Where would you wear an outfit like this? I would wear it to a garden party, dinner, fashion event or a style bloggers' meet-and-greet.

Happy Thursday loves! I trust that you've been having a great week so far and looking forward to something amazing this weekend. 

This is my first co-ord set and just as I received it in the post and opened the package, it brought so much joy. The vibrant colours and bold floral print in full bloom literally brightened my day. Isn't it funny how flowers can do that? Whether they're in a garden or in a bouquet delivered to you, flowers bring so much cheer.

MY STYLE: Distressed and Floral

How unlikely is the pairing of something edgy and distressed with something soft and feminine? That's a bit of an oxymoron isn't it? 

Distressed denim was a heavy hitter on the fashion scene last Summer and has continued it's journey into this Spring. Although there are many variations and styles of distressed denim on the market, I just couldn't find one that I really loved so I made my own. 

This floral blazer has a story of its own also. I was eyeing it for about a month or more. I even fitted it once but for some reason, I still hadn't convinced myself to buy it. I'm not quite sure what finally convinced me to purchase the blazer but I'm glad that I did because even though it's floral and currently on trend, because of the abundance of colours, I can wear it with different outfits. Versatility is a key principle in wardrobe styling.

MY STYLE: Simply White

Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance- Coco Chanel

According to the world wide web, the first official day of Summer is either June 20th or 21st, but in the Cayman Islands where I live, it's Summer everyday. White is always on trend for the Spring/ Summer, because its a no brainer that it is the coolest shade to combat the scorching Summer temps. 

This outfit was by no means cool at all. Skinny jeans and a long sleeved wool top? Really Olivia?!.....but it's cute though right? Hey, us women aren't always about comfort or practicality, we're about style all the way.

The truth about this outfit is that 1- it was totally inspired by a very good friend Doopie (check her out on IG), 2- I really wanted to pair my new floral Marlenee heels and 3- I definitely wanted to sport my necklace which I am so in love with. Whilst both the necklace and heels would also pair beautifully with an all black ensemble, I thought it was more chic with all white. What are your thoughts?

What I Wore- Day 2- Style Bloggers of Color Conference 2013

Happy Hump Day lovies! Hope your week has been nothing short of fabulous thus far.

Just thought I'd share a quick post on what I wore for day 2 of the Style Bloggers of Color Conference 2013 in Miami. I'm sporting another flared/ circle skirt made by my seamstress. I bought this fabric in the hope that I would actually make the skirt myself but got cold feet when attempting to cut it, so I somehow convinced my seamstress to cut the 'pattern' and show me step by step how to make a circle skirt. Once I master the first one, I know that I'll be churning out lots more, so look out because seamstress Olivia is on the way ;). 

.......and look, I FINALLY got a decent pair of black, patent pumps and they were on sale. Yay me! So classy

INSPIRED STYLE: Flared and floral

I find inspiration for many things, in many things and wardrobe styling is no different. I find inspiration in magazines, TV commercials, from other style bloggers, definitely designers and the list goes on and on. While I have embraced my own style, at times, I draw inspiration from other style bloggers and today's look is another inspired look from the non-traditional, confident, uber gorgeous, style mogul and owner of online store Shoxie, Folake Huntoon of Style Pantry. Folake sported a pair of distressed skinnies with her peplum here, whereas I exchanged the skinnies for flared denim. Skinnies have been on the scene for a while now but for this look, I gave my flared bottoms a day out on the town.
