MY STYLE: Something New, Something Blue

There is so much that I can say about this dress but because I am still wow'd and stunned by its intricate details, quality and beauty, I will let this stunner speak for itself.

MY STYLE: Cut-out Culotte

Isn't it so true how history repeats itself? The same goes for fashion. I clearly remember culottes being a big fashion statement when I was much younger. As a matter of fact, I believe my mother made a few for me. Here we are in 2015 with culottes being one of the biggest Summer trends and although it was and kinda still is trending heavily, this is the only piece I have. What drew my attention to this piece was first, the colour and secondly the style. The two are a perfect combination and transitions well through the fall with a coat.

The intricate cut-out details of my soft gold clutch matched the cut-out detail of the culotte jumpsuit

MY STYLE: Neutral Fall

Autumn is as joyful and sweet as an untimely end-
Remy de Gourmont

Just like black and white, in my opinion, the combination of white paired  with camel, tan or beige is equally as classic. It is one of those combinations that look great on anyone and transitions from season to season. I firmly agree that colours outside of black and gray can and should be worn in the winter. Afterall, colour brings light to any mood and we all know what the winter is like.

Of the few pieces that I purchased on my recent trip to the Czech Republic, I think this is my absolute favourite. As simple as it is, it is my favourite because it was so inexpensive yet the comfort and quality are just remarkable. Let's not forget to mention the colour....totally swoon-worthy.

MY STYLE: Olivia Shirt Dress

Happy Friyay loves! Just sharing a quick post of my Olivia shirt dress and how I chose to wear it as a shirt/ tunic. In another post, I will wear it as a dress. I think I was more excited to purchase this piece because Polo Ralph Lauren named it after me *wink*

MY STYLE: Lace x Ripped Denim

Happy hump Wednesday loves, we're half way there!!

Continuing with the theme of mixing delicate with a little toughness and edginess, again, here I am pairing delicate lace with ripped/ distressed denim. I think this outfit is perfect for weekend shopping or as one of my style moguls Wendy would say, "brunch"!

I was so happy to nail this action shot because usually I'm stationery when taking pics for my blog

MY STYLE: Sheer White Panels

Happy Monday loves! I can't believe how quickly the year has flown by. We are already mid-way through September but I am not complaining because my favourite season (Fall) and holiday (Christmas) are just around the bend. In the meantime, I will continue to bask in warm temperatures and light layers.

Whenever I do long-haul trips, shopping is usually the last thing on my mind. My intention is always to take in as much as I can, immerse myself in the sights and culture of the country and if I have a few minutes to spare, then I'll pop into a store or two. On my recent travels to Czech Republic, I popped into an off road shop as I was walking through the cobble-stone side streets. As I was about to walk out of the store, I saw this top on a mannequin and the rest was history. Because I live in the Caribbean, I often go for light, airy, delicate pieces and this top checked all of those boxes.

MY STYLE: Fringe Booties

In my previous post, I spoke about the freedom and creativity that fashion provides, where there are little to no rules and even if there are rules, those rules can be broken. In that post, I paired super casual, frayed denim shorts with a sleeveless, long-line blazer, which you can see has showed up again in this post, only this time, a little more on the casual but dressy side. This blazer will no doubt be on repeat with variations of dresses and bottoms.

Let's talk a little about these shoes which first made their appearance on my Instagram. When I first saw these fringed booties, I had a serious mental debate about whether or not I wanted them, how they would look and if I were willing to pay the shipping and duty cost for these babies. After seeing how numerous style bloggers styled them, I could not resist purchasing so I bit the bullet and bought them--thankfully, I did not regret the purchase.

I guess the designer pre-empted that fringe would be the next big trend because almost after 6-7 months of the purchase, everything fringe exploded everywhere.

MY STYLE: Casual Contrast (Denim Shorts x Vest)

One of the things I love most about fashion is that there are little-to-no rules and pretty much anything goes. Fashion allows you to be as creative as your mind and courage allow you to be. You can mix vintage with modern, bold with bolder, contrasting prints like floral and stripe, and the list goes on and on. Outfits and pairings that you would least envision, turn out to be the ones that work perfectly well together.....kinda like this outfit--frayed denim shorts and a sleeveless long-line business blazer.

Summer Florals

As much as I absolutely love Fall, I am standing in the gap and holding on to the Summer days for all you fashionistas who love the Summer but are already experiencing the weather change. The Summer days are quickly fading and as soon as you know, it'll be Christmas.

On my recent travels to Czech Republic and Austria, I stopped in at the Designer Outlet Parndorf near Vienna, which is tax-free by the way, to browse through the outlet stores. Desigual is fairly new here in the Cayman Islands so I was not overly familiar with the brand although they've been around since 1984, but this dress caught my eye because my favourite colour was so prominent. I would say the variation of prints and designs of the brand are for eclectic persons who like busy prints and flamboyant splashes of colour so if you're more on the conservative side, this store is definitely not for you.
