MY STYLE: Purple Pleats

It's almost Friyay!! Woot! Do you have any plans for the weekend?
The weather has been nothing short of amazing over the past 2 weeks. The temperature fell to 64 degrees and of course, some found it to be too 'cold' and others like me were simply just basking. To be honest, it was a bit chilly for the Cayman Islands considering that we're so used to scorching temps, but I loved every minute of it--so did my maxi skirt.

I do have a few pleated maxi skirts and would like to add a few other colors to my collection. When I saw this magenta colored one, I squealed with excitement. These skirts tend to come in a 'One Size fits all' size but I really think designers/ manufacturers should change that. There is absolutely nothing on this earth that is a 'One Size fits all' because we're all different and I had to alter the waist of my skirt a little.

My look was inspired by Folake of Style Pantry and Blaire of Atlantic Pacific. The combination of the versatile denim shirt with the pleated purple maxi skirt was perfect in my eyes and so I had to put my spin on it.

MY STYLE: Weekend Staples

The weekends for me are more often than not about comfy casuals. Only recently have I started wearing shorts (or anything above my knee), but I must admit that I've been on the lookout for a decent pair of white shorts for quite some time now. While browsing one of my local boutiques, at the very last minute, I just happened to glimpse the perfect pair on a mannequin and I was very impressed with the quality and fit. I think it is now safe to say that I have acquired all the pieces that are considered wardrobe staples......which I will write about in another post.

The combination of a denim shirt paired with white shorts has been done, worn, written about, played and styled over and over again by fashionistas, style bloggers and stylists around the globe, but there is always a first for everyone and this was my first.

Let's talk about this pointy leopard print oxfords! I started wearing heels when I was about 17 and when I say heels, I mean serious stiletto heights so when I was introduced to flats, it took me the longest time to find them wearable, cute or even fashionable. I just couldn't wrap my head around not wearing heels. Fast forward many years, I've amassed quite a number of flats in varying styles, designs and colours and now, these!

MY STYLE: Wild Thing

It's a public holiday here in the Cayman Islands, Ash Wednesday to be exact and I'm still playing catch up on my posts. It's a beautiful day and what I really should be doing is taking advantage of the day off outdoors, but first, let's keep these posts going.

Feet slipping forward as usual #slenderfeetproblems. Does anyone else have this problem? Once I'm wearing a pair of open toe heels, you can guarantee that my feet are going to slide forward. Nevertheless, I had to get a close up shot of these caged, Steve Madden heels. I absolutely love these heels but be warned, they are not all night or even walking heels, not to mention killer on the ankles but......they're sexy ;)

MY STYLE: Weekend Cut Out

How totally adorbs is this dress? My photographer's parents were visiting so we met up for lunch before they took flight back to Canada. I wasn't sure what to wear but remembered that I bought this dress back in December while visiting my old stomping ground (Canada). It was perfect for a Sunday lunch and of course because we don't always have time to shoot looks in the week, I wore something shoot-worthy and 'bloggable'.

I'm not particularly a fan of dresses or tops with cut-outs but I found the cut-outs in this dress to be just enough for me. The other great thing about this dress is its versatility. It can be dressed up or as worn here, dressed down with sandals.

MY STYLE: Lady Bug

Hey loves! Just popping in to give you another quick (and cute) weekend lady bug combination of red and black. Not only did I love the simple but stylish ensemble that I quickly threw together, but I loved the location that we shot. The sidewalk was covered in fallen leaves as if it were Fall all over again, and if you've been following me for a while then you'd know that Fall/ Autumn, is my favourite season. Unfortunately we do not experience a change of seasons here in the Caribbean but we could always pretend right?!
