MY STYLE: Obsessed! (Off the Shoulder)

Tweet loves! Happy Tuesday. Yup, I'm in another off-the-shoulder top again. I think I've just about said everything there is to say about my (now) obsession for the off-the-shoulder trend. I have been living in off-the-shoulder tops. Literally!

This one is another custom made top by my seamstress and of course, there will be more.

MY STYLE: DIY Shirt Dress

Happy hump Wednesday loves. We're already midway through a short work week- woot! I extended my 4-day Easter weekend by an additional day to catch up on some much needed rest but because I'm such a busy body, I didn't actually rest. Either way, it was great to be out of the office (as always).

In my last post, I mentioned that I was slightly obsessed with the latest off-the-shoulder trend. I have yet to see an off-the-shoulder item that I dislike. With that said, I went on YouTube and found this video showing me how to quickly and easily transform a button-down shirt into an off-the-shoulder top. In this case, I transformed a men's shirt into a shirt dress (slightly shorter version but cute). I paired it with some not so new fringe heels and my everyday Michael Kors bag (mini-suitcase). I LOVE how the entire outfit turned out. Do you?

MY STYLE: Off the Shoulder

Happy almost the long weekend loves! It's almost time for the long Easter weekend and whatever your plans, I hope that throughout the weekend, you remember the true meaning of Easter.

This is my third post in a row trending in an off-the-shoulder top. If you've been following me for a while, firstly, thank you for doing so and secondly, you know I'm not big on following trends but I do love the current off-the-shoulder trend. In as little as a week, I've somehow acquired 6 of these tops, in different styles of course. In my last two posts, I shared the denim top and black top, both which were made by my awesome seamstress.

By the way, do you see how much more comfortable and confident I've become about wearing shorts? Look at that!

MY STYLE:: Denim Off-The-Shoulder

Hey loves! Happy Tuesday!!

So here I am again with another custom-made off-the-shoulder top and there will be more to come. Of course, if I have the option to have something made verses ordering online, shipping, waiting etc., then I always choose to get it made, if I can. Off the shoulder tops are trending heavily at the moment and they are the perfect wardrobe pieces for the Spring. Paired with shorts, there are even better for sunny, beach days or lunch by the sea.

I decided to use the back side (wrong side) of this denim fabric to make the top instead of the right side because the right side was a very sharp blue. Perhaps I'll use the right side for something else.

At the end of the shoot I just couldn't deal with those heels anymore so I switch out into something a lot more comfy--my trusty white Converse

MY STYLE: Casual Monday

Tweet Loves! Just dropping in with a quick style post in a casual Monday outfit. Off-the-shoulder ruffle tops seem to be trending heavily now--I guess in preparation for the nearing Spring. Of course this style of top is not a new one but one that has popped up on the scene again. History surely does repeat itself.

Although I'm an ad-hoc, non-strategic shopper, I hesitated to jump on the bandwagon to purchase any of these tops simply because they're so basic and easy to make. The unfortunate part is that although they are easy to make and I own a sewing machine, I still pester my seamstress who always willingly make pieces for me.

MY STYLE: Tetris (Black and White)

Being glamorous is about strength and confidence. It’s black and white—dramatic! You have to be strong—Catherine Zeta-Jones

My love for big, full, flare, midi or maxi skirts is growing at a speed that I seemingly cannot control. Thanks to my amazing seamstress who never grows tired of making these skirts for me, this high-low black and white maxi skirt is newest piece in my collection.
A few posts ago, I mentioned that I received invites to a few Christmas functions and I found that rather odd because rarely am I invited anywhere....maybe because I'm such a home body, but one of my department's partners extended an invitation to their annual Christmas party and this is what I wore.  I named the post Tetris because that's what the pattern reminds me of. You know that game right? On long haul flights, I love playing Tetris on my iPad.

Now, let's focus a little on the opening quote, especially the first line "Being glamorous is about strength and confidence" because it truly is. You could have the most amazing outfit, a face that's beat to the heavenlies, and a hairstyle that only a true master stylist could create, but if you're not bold, strong and confident, that insecurity will shout a whole lot louder than your banging outfit. In this life, you HAVE to be strong to survive. There are no two ways about it.

2015 Holiday Lookbook- Style 2

Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas- Calvin Coolidge

Hi loves, apologies for the absence of posts last week but what a week it was. Bridal shower, work, staff lunches, Christmas parties etc.....and, it's Monday AGAIN *sigh*.

This second look from my holiday lookbook is more for the casual to not-so-casual Christmas dinner or other event, it's not overly dressy neither is it completely dressed down. I've been doing some closet scouring lately and realised that I hadn't yet worn this jumpsuit which I purchased well over 6 months ago. Actually, I'd venture to say that I purchased it at least a year ago but never wore it or even remembered that I bought it. I promise that I'll do better in the new year. I have wayyyyyyy too much clothes.
What I love most about this jumpsuit is the intricate lace detail over the light beige lining. The lining adds such depth and dimension, almost creating the illusion of a 3d look. The downside to wearing a jumpsuit is when it's time for a bio break. Uh! Just the thought of having to undo the outfit totally discourages me from taking that break.

On another note, Christmas is drawing nearer and nearer by the second. What are your plans?
